Context
Bucha Buzz is a packaging and brand identity project that reimagines hard kombucha as a fun, social drink for relaxed summer settings. The project responds to a growing interest in beverages that balance wellness with enjoyment, aiming to create a brand that feels authentic, youthful, and approachable.






The Design
The identity features simple illustrations and expressive typography that capture the handmade, imperfect charm of woodblock printing. A bold handwritten logo paired with black and white can designs creates a strong visual contrast, while each flavour, apple, strawberry, peach, and lemon, is distinguished by its own fruit illustration and accent colour. The visual direction balances playfulness with structure, reflecting both craft and clarity.
Process
Market and visual research informed the tone and aesthetic direction, highlighting a gap for a more laid-back, character-driven kombucha brand. I developed digital sketches, refined grid-based label layouts, and tested mockups to explore how composition, texture, and typography could communicate the brand’s easygoing personality. The result is a cohesive identity system that expresses authenticity through design simplicity and handcrafted detail.
