2025 Griffith Bachelor of Acting Yearbook

Context

The 2025 Bachelor of Acting Yearbook, commissioned by the Queensland Conservatorium, serves as both a graduate keepsake and a professional resource for industry representatives. The project required refreshed layouts and a distinct visual identity. Initially created for the yearbook, my design was later adapted for the Bachelor of Acting digital showcase.

The Design

The concept centres on custom typography that conveys energy and individuality. Condensed letterforms form a bold square composition, contrasted with refined serifs for clarity. Playful wavy borders connect the cover and interior spreads, creating a cohesive, contemporary, and professional identity. The project strengthened my editorial and typographic skills, balancing creativity with readability to produce a youthful and engaging publication that defines a fresh identity for the 2025 graduates.

Process

Inspired by magazine and newspaper grids, I balanced expressive typography with functional layouts for headshots, bios, CVs, and showreel links. I explored multiple colourways to refine tone and readability, selecting a palette that complemented the design’s lively yet professional feel. The wavy borders evolved from the abstract edges of the cover typography into central dividers for the interior spreads.

Digital Showcase

The digital showcase was a mobile program for the Bachelor of Acting graduation performance, featuring accessible text and graduate profiles. My yearbook concept was collaboratively adapted by the design team to inform the visual direction, maintaining the bold typography and cohesive style to ensure clear on-screen readability.
